Pezzaioli Truck Bodys
These have all the same features as articulated trailers but of course the ability to access small farms is what makes them appealing to the customer. Also the fact that if there is a smaller load to be moved there is often no need to use the trailer at all.
Volvo TridemExtensive design and research has gone into putting this combo on the road. Together with McCarthy Commercials Ltd. we specified the best possible suspension and axle setup available. This truck features "forestry suspension" with an extra heavy duty rear bogie. We have never seen a volvo with suspension as strong and solid as this! The chassis is extra deep and double skinned while still maintaining a very low running height. This is a trip-steer set-up, so the front and back tried axles both lift and steer giving unbelievable manoeuvrability. Volvos have never been a big seller at livestock in Ireland due to the stability of a Scania, however with this setup that could all change.
The Body is also a whole new concept for us. We have managed to design the body to be able to double deck calves and still have 5ft for a deck of cattle underneath. However this body can still run at 4mt with the roof down for single decking out of a farm or 3 decking pigs. O'Riordan's do a lot of mixed loads therefore they opted for a multi lift body split into 2 equal length lifting sections. They also fitted 2 rows of hydraulic locks, internal buttons and radio remote control. This body is built to full european export specifications. Also a first for Ireland and a groundbreaker for Aluminium bodies, this entire body is anodised inside and out. This is an electrolytic process (similar to galvanising steel) that will prevent the aluminium from corrosion and erosion. This has always been a downfall of aluminium livestock bodies where you see the aluminium going chalky. Pezzaioli have invested millions into this process and now have the largest aluminium anodising tank in the world. The sidewalls of this body are not painted they are just left in their natural anodised state. |
Pezzaioli Indi-LiftHeres a sneak peak at the first Pezzaioli independent lift in Ireland. By using dual rams it makes each deck fully independent of each other allowing for faster loading, unloading and washing times as you are not picking up decks with the first deck. Also one of the major benefits is being able to lift your loaded decks up extra high above the locks for loading and unloading the bottom deck. This is a 4mt high (full european export spec) body and it still gives you almost 5ft working height while working in the bottom deck. Watch out for more photos towards the end of the week!
Decks are set up in this photo as if you were loading pigs to show the height in the bottom deck while loading. Bottom deck gates are hinged from the side of the body when set-up. |
